We Are The Home Comfort People Who Service What We Sell!

Gas, Electric, Propane & Oil FurnacesAt JJ McLellan and Son, we are able to meet our customers needs and budgets by offering a wide range of heating options for their home, cottage, trailer or business. As a home owner, your Home Comfort System can be expensive to repair or replace, however if you consider the “Seven Things to Look for in a Home Comfort System” from Lennox, your decision making could go much smoother. It is important to consider the following points:
Reliability, Efficiency, Quiet Operation, Consistent Temperatures, Balanced Humidity, Proper Airflow,  Healthy Air

JJ McLellan & Son offers free home consultations and estimates to ensure you purchase the appropriate heating source for your home’s size, needs and to fit your budget.

Geothermal Heat Pump System (Heating and Cooling)
Using a Geothermal Heat Pump System, your home, cottage or business can have heating and cooling provided from the same system. This system uses the ground, rather than the air outside to heat or cool your home. GeoSmart Energy has provided excellent information and reasons to use a Geothermal System.

In Floor HeatingJJ McLellan & Son, your In-Floor Heating Specialists! Looking for an alternative way to heat your basement, shop or garage?  Does walking into your bathroom or kitchen on the cold linoleum or ceramic tile make you shiver?  In-floor heating is a practical alternative for your heating options to warm up those tiles or cozy up your basement. In-Floor Heating is the ideal solution for heat within a garage, shop or basement as the In-Floor will always keep the cement floor at a consistent temp, therefore taking the chill off that you would normally feel in these areas, without having to blast the heat (and your utility bill!).

Forced Air Heat, Hydronic Radiant Heat, Hydronic Boiler
Forced Air Heat – Benefits of this heating system is you can have your furnace, air conditioner, humidifier and HRV (heat recovery ventilation) as a complete home comfort system. A forced air system also provides a home with proper air circulation through cold-air returns registers and warm-air ducts and registers.
Hydronic Radiant Heat – Also known as In-Floor Heating (see above)

Hydronic Boiler Heat – A hydronic (water) boiler is a great option for a home owner with electric heat to upgrade to gas service. The boiler heats the water which then runs through the radiators in each room. We would advise also having an HRV installed to ensure proper air circulation throughout the home.

Plumbing
With our licensed installers we are prepared to assist you with any minor or major Plumbing repair or update you may desire or require. We have a variety of literature offering various taps, sinks, toilets, showers, tubs and vanity's.
Fireplaces (Gas, Propane, Electric)A fireplace can add a classic touch to any room in your home. If you visit our showroom at JJ McLellan & Son we have a display of fireplaces and detailed literature to show you the variety of options and appearances. Enjoy the appearance and instant heat from a fireplace without the work of cutting and carrying wood.

Backflow Water PreventionBack flow Water Prevention is a mechanical device that prevents water from re-entering your business or home’s water systems and back-ups or flooding of water or sewage from occurring in your basement.

Camera and Power Flusher for Sewers, Drains & Wells
JJ McLellan is equipped with a full service camera system to view and detect problems in a sewer line and also a complete system to view and detect problems within water lines, drains or wells. With our power flusher we can clear the line of any debris which may be causing your back up. The camera can be used before or after to locate the blockage, however once the debris is cleared the camera will be then used to determine the cause of the backup and blockage.

Central Air ConditioningFeeling the heat of the summer? Sick of the loud roar of the window air conditioner? An ENERGY STAR qualified Central Air Conditioner will cool your home, keeping you relaxed and comfortable, even when your utility bill arrives! Maximizing your comfort, while minimizing your energy costs!

Water Treatment SystemsWater Softeners will offer your home many benefits for the water system in your home. By removing the hardness from the water it will prolong the life of your hot water heater, washing machine and dishwasher. Soft water is also a natural conditioner for your clothes, hair and skin, being softer, gentle and producing much more lather with less soap!
Ultraviolet Disinfection uses UV Lights to disinfect the water without adding any chemicals.
Reverse Osomosis will remove or reduce sodium, lead, aluminum, copper, mercury, asbestos, sulfates, algae, phosphates, pesiticides, arsenic, nitrates, chlorine, detergents, syanide, THM’s, PCB’s, heavy metals, sediment and bromide from drinking water.

Pressure SystemsWe can assist you with all your pressure system needs for submersible or jet pumps and pressure tanks. There are a variety of types of pumps as well as sizes to suit your needs, such as Shallow Well Jet Pumps, Convertible Jet Pumps – which can be used on a shallow or deep well for your house, farm or cottage; Jet Pumps for Deep Wells – these are surface mounted, specifically designed to deliver high capacities at greater pressures for your home, farm or cottage; 4” Submersible Pumps – below ground pumps which are designed for residential and small municipal water supply and light irrigation applications; 5” and larger Submersible Pumps – also below ground pumps designed to move larger amounts of water for irrigation and municipal water supply.

Septic SystemsIf you have a rural home, business or cottage you are most likely using a septic system. A septic system is a sewage system for the home, business or cottage which has a holding tank and tile bed. The holding tank is where the solids remain and the bed is where the liquid is dispersed. Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre and the Ministry of the Environment has created a pamphlet which provides information on “Your Septic System” (http://www.ene.gov.on.ca/publications/6369e.pdf).

Indoor Air QualityThe quality of air we breathe in our home is essential for our good health. Some common issues are biological pollutants such as mould, bacteria and dust mites; and chemical pollutants such as gases (carbon monoxide) and particles that come from combustion appliances, tobacco smoke, household and personal care products, various building materials and outdoor air. With the use of a ventilation and filtration system the air is continuously circulated and refreshed.  The most commonly used ventilation system is a Heat Recovery Ventilator or HRV. This system discharges excess humidity from the home, which prevents potential health and moisture problems (especially in bathrooms, the kitchen and the basement). An HRV replaces the stale indoor air with fresh clean air from the outdoors. During transfer the outdoor air is filtered before entering and the indoor air pollutants are expelled to the outdoors.
